We support through envelope offering and PAR Mission and Service as well as United Church of Canada Appeals. We also contribute through private donations for The Compass Food Bank & Outreach Centre. Sheridan United Church is a founding member and participates quarterly with community Food drives and the annual Back to School Supplies drive.

Each quarter a donation is made to a charity not affiliated with the United Church of Canada from the income received in the offering plate. The offering plate is for cash donations and is collected the second and last Sunday of a month.

The SOJ Committee decides which charities will be selected. The committee has decided for 2023 and beyond to focus our donations to charities which support children. However, if the committee receives a special request from Council, or there is a special appeal, we will try to have a separate appeal for donations which we will include in the weekly announcements.
